RAYAC Board of Directors Candidate Profile

Name: Liz Unger

Office affiliation:  Prudential Bob Yost-Sites Homesale Services

Home municipality: Straban Township , Gettysburg , PA

How many years have you been a member of RAYAC?    16 years

Were you a REALTOR prior to joining RAYAC and if so, where and for how many years? No

What did you do professionally before real estate?
Immediately prior to getting my real estate license, I briefly worked in the Prothonotary's Office at the Adams County Courthouse.  Prior to that  I was employed by the Navy as a civil servant for 8 years with the Ships Parts Control Center as a computer programmer analyst. Before my stint with the civil service I had worked as a legal secretary for many years.

What RAYAC committees or task forces have you served on?
RPAC, Consumer Affairs, and others.

What are your goals/motivations for wanting to be a director?
Ever since the Adams/Hanover Board of Realtors dissolved and/or merged with RAYAC, I have felt displaced.  I feel that many of the Realtors in the Adams County area may harbor similar feelings.  I want to get involved with the Association on a more personal level and hopefully alleviate some of the feelings of alienation, or of being "out of sight, out of mind."

Name one thing people would be surprised to know about you.
That I climbed Pikes Peak and repelled off the side of the mountain and repelled from a helicopter while my husband was a Ranger at Fort Carson, Co.  After having done that, selling real estate is a walk in the park.

In keeping with the theme ("It's a small world: celebrating diversity around the world") for the annual affiliate marketplace held the day of the election, where other than the USA would you want to live?   Why?
Because I was married to a serviceman, I traveled and lived in other countries, but I have always found that "there's no place like home."  There is no where else I would rather be than in this glorious country, we call the USA .
