Roxanne Whitaker, Keller Williams Keystone Gettysburg Office
How many years of experience do you have in the real estate industry, and what is your area of specialization?
I have 16 years of experience in the real estate industry and 5 years of experience as a Realtor.® My area of specialization is First Time Homebuyers and those whoneed grant programs in PA and MD.
What do you love most about being a Realtor®?
I love helping anyone with a dream of owning a home and being able to make it a reality. I also love having great relationships with my clients and people within the industry.
Have you been involved in any community service activities?
Since the age of 14, I have always volunteered in my community. I have a passion for assisting the homeless in various ways. When I lived in MD, I volunteered at my daughter’s elementary school with the Title 1 Program for Neglected, Delinquent, and At-Risk children. I assisted with Micha’s Backpack, which is a program that sends food home with children so that they can eat over the weekend, and volunteered at the MD Food Bank. I have also helped to make sure children in need within my community have backpacks, school supplies and winter coats.
What do you believe are the critical issues facing the real estate industry?
I believe the critical issues facing our industry are lack of training, broker oversight, and agents not working together.
What motivated you to run for a position on the Board of Directors?
I have thought about this in the past and wanted to make sure I had the time needed to serve on the Board. Now that I have served on the RAYAC DEI committee for almost two years, it has given me greater insight into RAYAC and how I can contribute to help solve some problems. I also see a need to have a voice in Adams County on the Board of Directors.
