Brenda Drawbaugh, Berkshire Hathaway
How many years of experience do you have in the real estate industry, and what is your area of specialization?
I started with a small independent firm as a receptionist in 1985, which was acquired by Bob Yost in 1991. I activated my license and joined RAYAC in 2005, got my broker license in 2010 and have been in Leadership with the company for about 15 years. I am currently an Executive Vice President overseeing 12 Berkshire Hathaway HomeSale locations in York, Adams, Cumberland and Dauphin Counties.
What do you love most about being a Realtor®?
In my role as a leader, I love to see Realtors and other leaders succeed. I love to meet people where they are and help them get to where they want to be. That is very rewarding to me.
Have you been involved in any community service activities?
- RAYAC Board of Directors 2010-2012
- RAYAC Program Social Committee 2013-Present
- Sunshine Kids fundraisers 2010-Present (The Sunshine Kids is an organization that supports children with cancer)
What do you believe are the critical issues facing the real estate industry?
Continued low inventory and market volatility (which both of these have been for years). However, I feel like the biggest issue facing our industry and realtors today is the changes to our business that are needed to comply with the NAR lawsuit settlement. Education for not only Realtors but also consumers is super critical right now.
What motivated you to run for a position on the Board of Directors?
I had been on the Board previously (2010 – 2012) and I always knew I would like to be serve again. I very much enjoyed my time on the Board and the ability to have a small part in helping our Realtor community thrive and I think now is the perfect time with everything going on in our industry to step up again. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to serve the RAYAC community!
