Mark Carr, Berkshire Hathaway East York Office

How many years of experience do you have in the real estate industry, and what is your area of specialization?

I have 30 years of experience and I focus primarily on residential sales with buyers and sellers.

What do you love most about being a Realtor®?

The opportunity to help buyers and sellers turn their homeownership dreams into reality. I truly enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life, and feel honored to play a role in one of the most significant investments they’ll ever make.

Have you been involved in any community service activities?

I have volunteered for many of the activities that both of my children have been involved with during their youth.  One of the most rewarding activities we all did together was hand out turkeys during Thanksgiving with Life Path Ministries in York City.

My RAYAC activities include serving on the RAYAC Board of Directors for two separate three year terms, serving as a past Board of Director for the Pennsylvania Association REALTORS and service on the RAYAC Golf Committee and RPAC Committee.

What do you believe are the critical issues facing the real estate industry?

The real estate industry is currently facing several key challenges. One of the most significant is the growing presence of third-party and tech companies that seek to diminish the vital role Realtors play in the process, which in turn devalues our contributions to consumers. Another pressing issue is adapting to the new NAR regulations following the recent DOJ settlement, which will require us to navigate a shifting landscape with increased complexity.

What motivated you to run for a position on the Board of Directors?

The two major issues I just mentioned in the previous question have driven me to run for the position. I think my experience as a Realtor and as a team leader can provide vital input in helping my fellow RAYAC members.

Electronic voting for the Board of Directors is open from Monday, September 9th through Monday, October 7th at 12:00 PM.  To vote electronically please click here.  Voting can be done in person at the RAYAC office during normal business hours from Monday, September 9th through Monday, October 7th at 12:00 PM.  Voting can also be done in person at the RAYAC Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 8th.
